  FSSAI Mandates Update of Form IX Nominee Details and Introduces Auto-Approval for Non-Form C Modifications in FoSCoS The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a directive urging all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to ensure that the details of the Form IX nominee —the person responsible for compliance with food safety license conditions—are regularly updated. This measure comes in response to multiple instances where FBOs failed to inform the authorities when their nominated person changed or left the company. As a result, FSSAI has observed a lack of updated information on compliance officers in food businesses. Regulatory Requirements for Updating Form IX Details As per Rule 2.5.2 of the Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011 , it is mandatory for companies to intimate the Licensing Authority whenever there is a change in the nomination provided in Form IX .
